Pandal hopping in Kolkata, planned for you
Pandal Hoppings plans a walking route between Durga Puja pandals from wherever you are standing. Pick how long you have (two to six hours) and what you are after: the best pandals, the maximum number, theme pujas, traditional and bonedi bari pujas, or the ones without huge queues. It orders the stops so you walk less and queue less, tells you when to leave each one, and re-plans if you fall behind.
It covers 159 pandals across 21 areas of north, central, east and south Kolkata, with walking times measured on OpenStreetMap streets, the nearest metro station for each pandal, typical queue times, and 34 public toilets plus the famous places to eat and drink along the way. It is free, needs no sign-up, works on any phone, and keeps working offline once you have opened it.
Pandal hopping (Bengali: ঠাকুর দেখা, thakur dekha) is the Kolkata habit of walking from one Durga Puja pandal to the next through the festival nights. This site is a pandal hopping guide for people who would rather be told the next stop than scroll a list in a queue; the WBTC bus tours sold as “Puja Parikrama” are a different, ticketed product.
